Movement for the Actor

Instructor: Aaron Coates

Description:

This workshop will focus on helping actors discover how they move now and how they might move more effectively in the future. Utilizing the principles and exercises of Jacques Lecoq, Philippe Gaulier, John Wright, and Anne Bogart, students will learn to work with their impulses, incorporate physical tools into their process, and strengthen their overall presence onstage. The goal of the workshop is to find freedom and the spirit of play.

The class will always involve the "core exercises", but may also include work on the different territories of theatrical play such as Neutral Mask, Greek Tragedy, Clown, and Bouffon. Through work on these different disciplines, students will broaden their range and discover their individual talents.

Schedule: New Session Beginning Tuesday, April 22nd, 5:00-6:30pm x 10 weeks

Cost: $150.00 plus GST or $100.00 plus GST if enrolled in Voice for the Actor in the same session
