Carmen Kotyk has worked on casting for many film & TV projects including Black Eyed Dog, The Tommy Douglas Story, Santa's Slay, the Englishman's Boy & many more. Students will work on a series of scenes over the course of this two-day workshop and will leave with a tape of their on-camera work. With one of Western Canada's leading Casting Directors leading this workshop, they are a must for anyone seriously seeking more experience or a career in film & television acting.

Meisner Intensive

Instructor: Stacie Harrison

Prerequisite: Essentials of Acting or Equivalent

Description:

Whether you're seeking an introduction to the Meisner Technique or a chance to brush up on your work, the Meisner Intensive will serve either of these purposes. Over the course of five consecutive evenings, students will participate in Meisner's word game and improv exercises, culling from the actor emotional authenticity by working truthfully off their partner, moment to unanticipated moment. A strong introduction for those thinking of taking the Meisner Technique class in the Fall and a great way to gain more experience for those who have already undertaken this training.

Schedule: August 11th-15th - 6:30-10:00pm

Level: Beginner-Advanced

Cost: $300.00 plus GST

Create Your Own Work

Instructor: Aaron Coates

Prerequisite: Essentials of Acting or Instructor's Permission

Description:

Are you tired of waiting for work to come your way? Do you have a great idea for a story? Do you want to showcase your abilities? In this workshop, you will learn about the many ways you can create work for yourself. We will look at writing techniques for scenes and solo plays, physical theatre creation approaches, and collective creation. The workshop will also cover the basics of how to produce a play with an ad hoc company - from choosing a play and booking a venue to finding cheap rehearsal space and marketing. The goal of the workshop is to empower the actor to make a career rather than waiting for it.

Schedule: August 18th-22nd - 7:00-11:00pm

Cost: $300.00 plus GST
